The ultimate challenge: to create an experience worthy of Nike to support Go Skateboarding Day in NYC, in less than 5 weeks. The Nike SB Skate Safari Barge was a 285' foot floating skatepark, inspired by NYC’s deep culture of street skating. The park included replica’s of the most iconic skate spots that no longer exist in the city so that the next generation could experience them. The floating barge was able to hit locations in both Manhattan and Brooklyn while extending Go Skateboarding Day to an entire long weekend of activities instead of just one day. In collaboration with local skate retailers and Nike SB’s skate team the entire weekend was jam packed with activities and events for the whole family.
